About URCA
Developed as a resource to help guide students towards experiential education opportunities, URCA seeks to enhance undergraduates’ time at UCSB through participation in research and creative activities. Together, these programs work to foster individuals who are prepared to apply their learned skills towards their future personal, academic, and professional goals.

Student Research Grant
The URCA Grant enables students from all majors across the university to pursue their own self-initiated research or creative projects, providing up to $750 funding.
The URCA Grant operates on an annual cycle. We are committed to making the application process accessible and encouraging, especially for first-time applicants. We offer application support, including workshops and dedicated office hours, to help you refine your project proposal and submit a strong application.
Applications will open October 1, 2026 and close Friday, November 6, 2026.
